Loot: Artbooks (October 2010)

Another month, and another collection of artbooks, guides and other written materials.

Ever since I came across a certain seller who has some great auctions on second-handed books, I can’t stop myself from not looking at her catalogue at least once a week. Unnecessarily to add, the temptation grows every time, while my account slowly decreases.. With deals like those, I no longer solely look at artbooks, but also let my attention fall upon light novels and the such. (Which means I’m kind of crazy, as I don’t even have the skill to read them.. uh.)

Anyhow, this month I managed to nab (from left to right):

Hangetsu – The Art of Keiji Yamamoto
(I now own both his hardcover books, yay.)
CLANNAD Visual Fanbook TV Animation
(The illustration gallery is just irresistible..)
Kanon Visual Memories + CD
(The included CD really is something.. almost 100 varations of Ayu’s ‘uguu’.. and most of them sound really ..ehh, how to put this nicely.. ‘hentai-ish’. Yes, so kind of awkward.)
Kanon Visual Fan Book
(This is actually a fanbook for the visual novel, something I didn’t really knew beforehand, as I was kind of surprised to discover some hentai CG’s were included.. mustmakesureitdoesn’tfallintothewronghandsyup.)
Ballad of Innocence (Ballad of a Shinigami)
I honestly thought that the anime was so-so, but the light novel illustrations it was based on are really something else. So serene..
Durarara!! no Subete
Just your average tv animation guide. But I sure dig the illustration gallery, as usual.
Honey and Clover Seishun Album
I was a bit surprised to find out it was actually in 4koma-format, I had expected a more regular A4-sized guide, as I was hoping for some nice illustrations.. Anyway, it’s still cute and handy, so I’ll have to track down Chica Umino’s artbook if I want more..
Kimi ni Todoke light novel Ashita ni Nareba
Again, something I can’t read, but had to get for the illustrations. This novel tells the story of when the main characters were still in middle school, and their first encounter.

and as an extra, some photos on the Nishio Isin Starter Set by Kodansha BOX, plus more about that Kanon book..

The collection comes in a nice, clear slipclase decorated by ice crystals.

6 thin booklets on the main routes of the characters, plus one that focuses more on the routes of some of the minor characters and some scenery details. Also, every character booklet comes with a life-size poster like the illustrations on the covers.

Now this is what I like.. I don’t need hentai in my art ;)

Nishio Isin starter set by Kodansha BOX. A strange buy, is what you perhaps think, but again, it were the goodies that tempted me.

The set includes the first volume of Katanagatari and Zaregoto, his debut series. Extras include a sticker sheet, 10 see-through bookmarks bearing images of all his works (including Bakemono!) and a small gift bag.

Front- and backside of the gift bag. It’s adorable.. (And some ‘fanservice’ for my loyal stalker reader.)

Hmm.. and yet I still can’t get enough, even though I know loots like these completely RUIN my wallet and balance.. so.. therefore I am planning on setting up my real October loot post soon, just to show yóú I’m not dead yet..

‘Til very soon..

Your loyal reader won’t be so loyal anymore if you don’t get in contact with him ASAP. :p
